I started my wake surfing career from a trip to a summer daycare camp on Lake Grapevine. Tubing, stand up paddleboarding, and wake surfing were on the menu from DFW Surf a local company in Grapevine.
Sleep came hard the night before my big adventure. My dad said, “as an excited 7-year-old you were wound tighter than a two-dollar watch.” Finally, it was morning…….I remember the smell of the coconut sunscreen mom lathered me up with and I can still see that new “Lightning McQueen and Mater” backpack. It was loaded down with more sunscreen, an extra hat, towel, snacks, water, and busting at the seams just like me. Off we both went, me, the backpack and oh yes my new life vest on what was to be a rocky start to a fantastic journey…
Quickly after the week of camp, I was hooked on wake surfing and started taking lessons to progress my skills. Competing was something that I was drawn to and this is where P-Dawg Surf came to life. I was traveling around the country competing at different events and wanted to create a brand to be able to share my passion with others. Fast forward 7 years, I am now 18 years old competing against some of the best surfers in the nation and still chasing my passion. Currently, P-Dawg Surf offers private wake surf lessons, and host “Tigé Tuesdays” kids surf free.
I have been very fortunate throughout my wake surfing career to have amazing sponsors behind me like; Mom & Dad (they’ll always be my number one sponsor in my heart), Tigé Boats, Liquid Force, NXTLVL Marine and DFW Surf.
Interesting Fact: I became one of the youngest athletes to be sponsored by a boat company when I joined Tigé Boats at the age of 10.
